Educational Qualifications for Navy Dockyard Apprentice

To be eligible for the Indian Navy Dockyard Apprenticeship 2024, candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements:

  • SSC/Matriculation: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in the 10th standard.
  • ITI Certification: Candidates must hold an ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade with a minimum of 65% aggregate marks. ITI certificates without specified marks or percentages will not be considered.

Age Criteria

  • Minimum Age: 14 years (18 years for hazardous trades)
  • Age Calculation: Candidates born on or before May 02, 2011, are eligible to apply.
  • No upper age limit is specified for the apprenticeship program.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates for the Navy Dockyard Apprenticeship 2024 will follow a structured process:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on a 70:30 weightage system, with 70% for marks obtained in SSC and 30% for ITI marks.
  2. Written Examination: A 75-question OMR-based test will cover Mathematics, General Science, and General Knowledge. The duration is one hour, and there is no negative marking.
  3. Oral Test and Document Verification: Candidates who qualify in the written exam will undergo an oral test to assess their technical skills, followed by document verification.
  4. Medical Examination: A medical fitness test will be conducted as per the Apprenticeship Act rules.
