Landuse and Urban Survey Division at Remote Sensing Applications Centre Uttar Pradesh is actively involved in formulation/creation of various types of projects/digital databases like landuse/landcover mapping, urban sprawl mapping/ monitoring, Basemap/urban infrastructure, study of agricultural land/other catagories of land transformation to urban built-up area, land use/cover change analysis, mapping/monitoring of illegal/unauthorized construction/colony under development authority/municipal limit area, site suitability analysis for solid waste disposal site selection/urban development site selection using Remote Sensing data, Geographical Information System and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Method/digital classification/visual interpretation. Division has completed the landuse/cover change detection 2nd cycle mapping project for entire state of Uttar Pradesh sponsored by National Remote Sensing Centre, Hyderabad (Department of space, Govt. of India). Besides it solid waste management project in Uttar Pradesh state sector funded by World Bank through U.P. Jal Nigam, Mapping/Monitoring of illegal colonies/encroachment at various sites of Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad, urban spatial growth in municipal corporations, Basemap preparation for master plan mapping to development/regulated authorities has also been completed. Division has published a book titled, “Site suitability modeling for urban development using Remote Sensing, GIS & AHP Method, from European Union and this book has been translated and published by sciencia scripts- omnisciptum pubilishing group, Beau Bassin, Mauritius into seven foreign languages i.e. French, Italian, German, Russian, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish languages and these volumes of the books are available on Amazon.in.  Division has published various chapters titled, “Urban spatial growth and landuse change analysis using high resolution Remote Sensing data, GIS and GPS A case study of Varanasi city, Uttar Pradesh, India published from New Delhi Publisher, New Delhi in a book- Integrated Natural Resorce management : The way forward, chapter titled, “Urban Spatial Growth Study on Lucknow city in a book titled, Rapid Urbanisation and Sustainable Development in Asia from Badan Penerbit Facultas Geografi (BPFG) Universitas, Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, chapter titled, “Site suitability evaluation for urban development using Remote Sensing, GIS and Analytic Hierarchy Process from Springer Nature, Singapore in a book titled-Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing,  chapter titled, ‘’Selection of Suitable Landfill Site for Biomedical Waste Disposal in Lucknow City, India using Remote Sensing Data, GIS, and AHP Method.’’ (Chapter_19, Published in The Urban Book Series, Titled, “Geospatial Technology and Smart Cities   @ Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021, and chapter_8, titled, Land Transformation and Future Projections of Land Consumption using High-Resolution Remote Sensing Data for Allahabad City.’’ has also been published in The Urban Book Series, Titled, “Geospatial Technology and Smart Cities   @ Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021

Expected Outcome : Maps were prepared showing the demarcated boundaries of Unauthorised colonies on Satellite image with their name and proper location.

Objectives : Digitization of  individual village cadastral maps to create a seamless village layer along with  Master plans digitization to be overlaid on village layer .

Objectives : Digitization of  Colony layouts under various development authorities with proper filling of attributes pertaining to plot no. ,type, Location, scheme etc.
Expected Outcome : To facilitate the development authorities for maintaining a proper record of colonies and their linked data that is necessary to carry out the process of sale and purchase and revenue generation.

4. Title : Base Map preparation project.

Study Area :  GDA and SSADA areas
Objectives : Under the project preparation of complete Base maps of above mentioned cites has been taken up. It includes the creation of Base maps showing the Geospatial data that consist of Land use maps, Plot layouts, Building footprints , above the surface utilities (Poles, Street lights, Communication Tower, Overhead tanks etc.) with all its major attribute data duly filled. It is being prepared under the Guidelines under AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
Expected Outcome : Generation of Urban utility Geo database and relevant maps in order to provide an improvised information for decision making on administrative functions including development, planning and management of infrastructures and utilities.
5.  Title: Smart city project.
Funding Agency : Non- Plan Project ( funded by MSCL (Moradabad Smart City Limited))
Duration : March 2021-to March 2023
Study Area : Cities covered under Smart city mission in Uttar Pradesh .Presently going on for Moradabad Smart City Limited.
Objectives:

      • Preparation of Base map for area within Moradabad Nagar Nigam is under process.
      • Apart from this mapping of below the surface utilities through GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) technology.
      • Creation of complete above the surface and below the surface Geospatial database.
      • Studies shall be undertaken for the detection of Changes occurred within the Moradabad Nagar Nigam boundary.

Expected Outcome : Generation of Urban utility Geo database and relevant maps showing the above the surface and below the surface utilities mapped to contribute to the improvement of city’s overall administration, optimum utilization of resources, capacity through provision of valid, reliable and credible spatial and non-spatial information.
6. Title : Asset Mapping Project

Objectives :
Under the project creation of Geospatial database for entire road network under Uttar Pradesh is being done that includes capturing of data through survey application created by RSAC-UP and then processing of data in Lab.
Expected Outcome : Generation of Geo database of entire road network of Uttar Pradesh to be utilised by the User department at various levels.

  • RERA Project- Under the project demarcation of under construction and constructed residential building/Plots within the 10 km buffer from the Lucknow Development authority boundary was done. Apart from it Information pertaining to the Site’s name, Coordinated ,location, Company’s name /society , Purchaser’s name , address, contact no. etc was also gathered from the field.
  • City Electric bus route mapping-Using GIS technology Electric Bus route maps were created.
  • Housing board-The objective was mapping of villages (Khasra) under under the acquired residential scheme –Griha Sthan Yojna of the Housing Board, Varanasi was done .It aims to produce a single seam less mosaic file of all the villages overlaid on the satellite image. It helped in clear demarcation of the plots in the concerning villages and thereby caters to various needs of the concerning departments presently. It also demarcates and maps the road network, constructed area of the adjoining areas of the villages. Change detection can also detected and mapped.
  • Panchayati Raj Project - Under the project preparation of block wise Panchayat Cluster maps in the state of Uttar Pradesh was done for the Panchayati Raj Department.
